What is Storyform?
Storyform is a new, highly effective method of creating talks, posters, slides and Storygraphics (infographics with an embedded story). It’s based on three key principles of story that will help your audience pay attention, process information, and understand content.
We use the same principles to teach science concepts in the classroom and at public outreach events in the Fusion Science Theater (FST) project funded by the National Science Foundation. See the FST page for a description of the project, its evaluation methods, publications, and FST show scripts and videos.
Workshops
Your success as a scientist, engineer, medical professional (or anyone with technical content) hinges on your ability to communicate with a variety of audiences— colleagues, collaborators, funders, and the general public. Storyform Science offers a variety of seminars, workshops, and short courses that harness the power of story to teach you how to create talks and visuals that help your audience understand your work. Browse our workshops here.
This 6-week summer short course will teach you powerful methods of story design and integrated visualization while you create lightening talks, infographics, and 10-minute talks with slides. The 2024 Summer Course will meet on Wednesdays at 1-4pm (CST), from July 9th - August 13th.
